Sweet Home | #WWYS83

Welcome to What will you Stamp, this week we have the adorably cute Sweet Home to show you.

Now before you think I did an awful lot of fussy cutting, I didn't - this set can also be purchased as a Bundle with the Home Sweet Home Thinlet dies , look at all the amazing die cuts available!

 Sweet Home Bundle

When I was looking at the set, I got the idea for a princess themed card - I have used a combination of the stamps and thinlets to make my card:

I was totally in my element making this card, pretty pastels, glitter and bling!  I trimmed the die cut to create the towers for my card, and used the web stamp to give a tiled effect on the spires.  The die cuts for the roof of the treat box act as the top of the castle walls, and I trimmed the banner die cut to create the little flags.  All the stamping has a layer of Dazzling Diamonds Stampin' Glitter , making it fit for any little Princess!

I'd love to see what you can create with this set, come join in the fun with Sweet Home this week - to see all the great projects from the Design Team and to participate in this weeks challenge at What Will You Stamp? click here

Crazy Crafters Blog Hop | Special Guest Paula Dobson

Welcome to the Crazy Crafters Blog Hop, today we have the super talented Paula Dobson from New Zealand joining us special guest! What makes today so great is that we get to CASE a project and hop along with Paula - Awesome! We hope you find great inspiration from the projects. The full blog lineup below will help you move along to see all the projects.

so love Paula's style, I spent quite some time viewing her amazing work, then I found it, here is the card I decided to CASE:

There are so many aspects of this card I adore, the colours, the sunset, the layers, but what most drawn to was the sponging technique - I'm normally a clean lines kinda girl, but I really liked the rugged hills and foreground and those sunset layers, what I was inspired to create:

I created the mounds of snow by tearing paper, yes you heard right, I didn't cut I, tore the paper! I've used Smoky Slate and Soft Sky for sponging snow using the torn paper as a mask at the base of the beautiful trees from Thoughtful Branches  - I didn't ink the stamp to the bottom of the trees so it looks like the snow is piled up high. To create the Gold edging I used Gold Stampin' Emboss Powder around the edge of a piece of card stock - here's a here is a picture from a card I made last year to give you a visual of what the embossed edge looks like before all the layers are put together

Emboss the edge of a layer of cardstock to perfectly match you embossed sentiment!

One of the reasons I love doing this is that border then perfectly matches the embossed sentiment. I love the combination of Gold with Always Artichoke - makes for an elegant Christmas Card don't you think?

I would love it if you could pin my cards! Make sure you hop all the way around our Crazy Crafters hop and see all the incredible ideas and creations, and if you have a chance please leave a comment, we love receiving comments! Seaside Shore with a Z-fold

Today I decided it was time to pick up a stamp set that I hadn't used before - you know one of those sets you see in the catalogue that you just have to get, and you just haven't got to use it yet! I recently re-organised my crafting area (amazing what you find when you do this); my electric cutter is now in a much more usable space, so I dusted it off and and had a play with that too - don't fret, you can achieve a very similar result by fussy cutting, I just didn't feel like fussy cutting today.

Aren't these little fish just adorable, I can't decide between the black and white or the Tempting Turquoise and Daffodil Delight as my favourite, the both look so lovely. How good does the Softly Falling Textured Impressions Embossing Folder work for creating little bubbles rising from the ocean floor, and that curvy edge on the top of the card is courtesy of the Swirly Scribbles Thinlits Dies

I've used sponging on the seaweed, rope and anchor. The middle panel just has a corner embossed so that you have a write your personal message to the lucky recipient.Whilst I haven't used all the images in the set, I have at least had a play and given myself some food for thought for what I can create in the future with the adorable ocean themed set.

 Seaside Shore

Crazy Crafters Blog Hop | Special Guest Sarah Berry

Welcome to the Crazy Crafters Blog Hop, today we have the lovely Sarah Berry from the UK joining us special guest and we get to CASE (copy and selectively edit) one of her projects. Here is the project I chose:

Strawberry Sketch card for #SS008

Here's my project:

I wanted to make the hero of my project the beautiful May Flowers Framlits Dies, and did this by creating a "positive/negative" design by positioning of the edge of the plate of the Big Shot and only cutting half the image on Whisper White. Then I cut a 2nd image using coloured cardstock, lined up to the first cut then trimmed and glued in place - another method you could create a similar effect is with an acetate sheet like Kim Oliver has done here. I added the
strip of Ruched Ribbon to border my change in colour then layered onto matching cardstock, then for the finishing touch of a cute little bow. Here's a different view to show the detail of the die cuts:

I think Sweet Sugarplum has turned out to be my favourite of the 2016-2018 In Colours, I just adore how it coordinates with Blushing Bride - but I am partial to pinks! That gorgeous sentiment is from Thoughtful Branches, I just love the font.

I would love it if you could pin my cards! Make sure you hop all the way around our Crazy Crafters hop and see all the incredible ideas and creations, and if you have a chance please leave a comment, we love receiving comments! Foxy Friends | Hello Baby

It's CASE the Designer this week at Global Design Project! I always love seeing the wonderful projects the design team creates, and what better than being ask CASE (Copy and Selectively Edit)  one of their projects!

I've chosen the new born baby element from Teneale's beautiful card, here is my creation:

I just love the Foxy Friends Bundle, the number of cute little critters that you can create with the stamps and punch is only limited to your imagination!  I've used Smoky Slate and Pool Party to create my baby boy card, I adore how the grey fox turned out.  And that adorable framing leaf stamp - LOVE it!

I couldn't resist decorating the inside of the card too, how adorable are those little mushrooms!

The top layer of my card is mounted using Foam Adhesive Strips; these are fantastic for popping up layers for added dimension - they are a little thicker than Dimensionals which is what I have used to put together my fox. I sure got my "layering fix" making this card!

For the final touch I heat embossed "hello baby" from Teeny Tiny Sentiments

Detailed Floral Framelits pop up box

I love fun folds and 3D projects, so when I have seen the wonderful variety of projects including candle holders, gift boxes and Jauna Ambida's wedding card in a box made with the Detailed Floral Thinlets Dies I knew I wanted to give them a try, then I had the perfect opportunity - a special request for a 60th Birthday card.

You do need to make sure that you place your dies in the correct position, but it's not too tricky to do, and as you can see the end result is just stunning. The Floral Phrases stamp set has the perfect stamp for adding detail to the bottom of you box too. I fussy cut a flower to place in the middle of my card and the "Happy" die cut is from the Hello You Thinlits Dies and popped up using a strip of window sheet.

Number of Years is just fantastic for creating Numbers for any special occasion - this card could be used for a birthday or anniversary.

Swirly Bird | #WWYS80

Ahoy stampers! This week we are showcasing the amazingly versatile Swirly Bird

You can create such a variety of images with this set:

  • flowers
  • leaves
  • birds
  • background splatters
  • kites
  • boats

The stamp set can also be paired with the Swirly Scribbles framelits - purchase as a Bundle and save 10%

I have made a number of cards using the flowers and leaves, so I've decided to go nautical with my latest creation, here it is

I stamped my little boat and fussy cut, using the co-ordinating framelits to create the ocean, and for that WOW factor created a Life Bouy using Calypso Coral Thick Baker's Twine.  Then I went a step further and added the shaker element... there was a slight cataosrophy during this process.... I knocked the sequin container, I don't think any more needs to be said!

UPDATE: Lots of people have been asking how I created the outer loops, I folded the bakers twine and tied a knot, then measured around and repeated, then I used a glue dot to attach and was able to tuck the twine around the edge of the shaker underneath - here is a photo so you can get a visual:

Masculine cards don't come naturally for me, they are always a challenge, this one could be used for a variety of occasions - I'm going to stamp on the inside of the card when I decide on what the occasion is.  I am really happy with this colour combination too!

So come along and join in the fun with us this week with Swirly Bird - to see all the great projects and inspiration from the Design Team and to participate in this weeks challenge at What Will You Stamp? click here
